Projects are not integrated successfully in Microsoft Office Project 2007 or Microsoft Dynamics SL


Symptoms

Consider the following scenario in Microsoft Dynamics SL and in Microsoft Office Project 2007: 

You integrate a project from Microsoft Dynamics SL into Microsoft Office Project 2007 or from Microsoft Office Project 2007 into Microsoft Dynamics SL.

When you do this, you notice that the project is not integrated into the destination application as expected. Additionally, you notice one of the following error messages in the MSDSLEventLog folder:

Error message 1
Project_2_DSL: Commit Exception: Rollback: - Type:System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException Message:SHUTDOWN is in progress.the Integration Service has been stopped due to a dropped SQL connection.  Check your SQL connectivity and restart.

Cause 1

This problem occurs if the Microsoft Office Project Connector Service loses connection with the computer that is running SQL Server and that hosts the Microsoft Office Project Server 2007 databases.

Cause 2

This problem occurs if the Microsoft Office Project Connector Service loses connection with the computer that is running SQL Server and that hosts the Microsoft Dynamics SL databases.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, restart the Microsoft Office Project Connector Service. To do this, follow these steps: 
  1. Open the Project Controller Setup (PA.SET.00) screen.
  2. Click the Microsoft Project Connector Setup button.
  3. Under Project Connector Integration Service, click Start.
