A project is not integrated correctly and you receive one or more error messages when you try to integrate a project from Microsoft Dynamics SL into Project Server 2007


Symptoms

Consider the following scenario in Microsoft Dynamics SL:
  • You try to integrate a project from Microsoft Dynamics SL into Microsoft Office Project Server 2007.
  • You review the project in Project Server 2007.
In this scenario, you notice that the project was not integrated. Additionally, you may experience one or more of the following symptoms:
  • The value X appears in the Status box on the Queue Status tab in the Microsoft Project Connector Setup (PA.MSP.00) screen for the project that is being integrated.
  • The Microsoft Project check box may no longer be selected in the Project Maintenance (PA.PRJ.00) screen for the project that is being integrated.
  • You notice one or more of the following error messages in MSDSLEventLogs:

You created an Enterprise custom field, and this field is marked as required.

To resolve this problem, see Resolution 1.

The default permissions of the Project Server 2007 Project Manager group were changed.

Resolution 1

To resolve this issue, determine whether there are any Enterprise custom fields that are set as required. To do this, follow these steps:
  1. Locate the Project Web Access (PWA) site.
  2. Click Server Settings.
  3. Under the Enterprise Data setting, click Enterprise Custom Field Definition. Check the Required column to see whether any values are set to Yes.
  4. If one or more of the values in the Required column are set to Yes, change them to No

Resolution 2

To resolve this issue, verify that users have permissions to create new projects. To do this, follow these steps:
  1. Locate the Project Web Access (PWA) site.
  2. Click Server Settings.
  3. Click Manage Groups.
  4. Click Project Managers.
  5. Expand Global Permissions.
  6. Verify that users have the appropriate permissions to create new projects.
