Microsoft Dynamics SL Project 2007 Integration error when you start Microsoft Office Project 2007

Symptoms

Consider the following scenario:
  • You have Microsoft Dynamics SL installed.
  • You start Microsoft Office Project 2007.
In this scenario, you receive the following error message when the toolbar loads:
Microsoft Dynamics SL Project 2007 Integration- "Unable to connect to the Microsoft Dynamics SL System Database:%"

Cause

This problem occurs because the Windows user account that you are using to log on to Microsoft Office Project 2007 is not associated with a user in Microsoft Dynamics SL.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, create a user account in Microsoft Dynamics SL. To do this, follow these steps:
  1. Start Microsoft Dynamics SL.
  2. Open the User Maintenance (95.260.00) screen.
  3. Type a new user ID, a Windows user name, and any other user information that you want to include.
  4. Save your work.
Note Any users for whom you create an account do not have to have any rights within Microsoft Dynamics SL to access the toolbar.
