Usage Data did not upgrade from Dynamics AX 4.0 to Dynamics AX 2009

Symptom

User specific settings in Dynamics AX 4.0 did not come over during the upgrade to Dynamics AX 2009.

Cause

Usage Data (SYSLASTVALUE) is not retained from version to version upgrades. This table contains user specific data that is no longer valid after the upgrade because of changes in the tables and forms.


Examples of usage data that would not be upgraded: 
  • The user changed the form - this is not stored in AOT but using MorphX which is stored in Usage data.
  • Objects in the user's "My Favorite".

Resolution

Users would have to re-create his/her preferences in the upgraded version of Dynamics AX in order for it to be saved in the correct format.
