LPR.EXE is not available by default in Windows Server 2008 or Windows Server 2008 R2

Summary

Attempting to launch the LPR.EXE command on Windows Server 2008 or Windows Server 2008 R2 may result in the following error:

"LPR.EXE" is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file.

This behavior occurs because LPR.EXE is only available if the LPR Port Monitor feature is installed.

More Information

Use Server Manager to install the LPR Port Monitor feature.

The LPR.EXE executable will be installed in the %windir%\system32 folder.
