DCS thread uses the previous context in Customer Care Framework 2009 if a client uses an empty context to start the DCS

Symptoms

Assume a client uses an empty context to invoke the Microsoft Distributed Connectivity Services (DCS) service in Microsoft Customer Care Framework (CCF) 2009. In this scenario, a service thread uses the previous context that another client initialized.

Cause

This issue occurs because a thread static variable is set to the context value of the previous client call when the current client call does not pass any context.

Resolution

Hotfix information

Prerequisites

You must apply this hotfix on a computer that is running the following:
  • Distributed Connectivity Services (DCS) Service Pack 1 (SP1)
  • DCS Service Pack 1 (SP1) Business Logic Visual Studio Extensions
  • All previous hotfixes of Microsoft Customer Care Framework (CCF) 2009. Especially the following:

  • In order to apply this hotfix, the version of Microsoft.ConnectedIndustry.ServiceModel.dll must be 1.5.0.93 or a later version.
