Symptoms

Consider the following scenario in Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2009 SP1 and in Microsoft Dynamics NAV 5.0 SP1:
  • You have a closed item ledger entry that is posted against a location that uses Directed Put-away and Pick.
  • You set Item not on Inventory to "Yes" and then create a Phys. inventory journal line by using the Calculate Inventory function for the closed item.
  • Then, you specify initial quantity for the item in the created journal line.
In this scenario, you do not receive an error message. Then, when you change the specified initial quantity in the journal line, you receive the following error message:
You cannot change the qty.(phys. inventory) because this item journal line is created from warehouse entries. Location Location is setup with directed put-away and pick and therefore changes must be made in a whse. phys. invt. journal

You expect the error message to be displayed when you specify initial quantity for the item in the created journal line.
