When you install Service Pack 5 or later for Microsoft Dynamics GP 10.0, the error "You must install the Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable Components before you can update Microsoft Dynamics GP" appears.

Beginning with service pack 5, there is a new pre-requisite for every hotfix, service pack and compliance update for Microsoft Dynamics GP 10.0. The pre-requisite is an update for the Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Runtime Library. This pre-requisite is bundled with the .MSP file and is delievered in an .EXE file. Moving forward all hotfixes, service packs and compliance update for Microsoft Dynamics GP 10.0 will be an .EXE file.

If the pre-requisite for Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Runtime Library is not installed on the workstation, the error will appear if trying to install a service pack, hotfix, or compliance update by double-clicking the .MSP file.
