ACC2000: Opening a Linked Table from a DB2 Database That Is Running on AS400 Fails

Symptoms

When you try to open a linked table from a DB2 database that is running on AS400, you may receive the following error message:
Microsoft Access cannot open this table in datasheet view.

Resolution

This issue is resolved by the latest release of Microsoft Data Access Components MDAC 2.1.2.4202.3 (GA). You can download MDAC 2.1.2.4202.3 (GA) from the following Microsoft Web site:

More information

When you link the table, if no Primary Key is found and a unique identifier is selected, you can at least open the table in Datasheet view; however, when you try to close the table, you receive the following error:
This Action will Reset the Current Code in Break mode.
In this case, to close the table, first switch to Design view.
