Summary

If you are running Microsoft Personal Web Server version 1.0 for Windows or Internet Information Server version 3.0, and have installed ASP.EXE after you install Office 2000, you may be unable to see data returned from the data connections that were established before you installed Active Server Pages (ASP).

More information

Data connections are communicated to the server if the server supports ASP. In this case, the server did not support ASP when the original data connection was established.

To allow FrontPage to communicate the data connection status, follow these steps:
  1. On the Tools menu, click Web Settings, and then click the Database tab.
  2. Choose to modify the database connection, then, without changing anything, click OK in the Database Connection Properties dialog box.
  3. Click OK to close the Web Settings dialog box.
These steps confirm the data connection and will allow data to be requested and posted with the connection.
