One notable difference between FrontPage's programmable interfaces and the other Office applications is that FrontPage creates a design-time user experience; however, the other Office applications create a run-time experience. The object models of the other Office applications their creates solutions that run inside the binary file(s) that were created by the application.
FrontPage is much different than other Office applications in that VBScript and JavaScript are used currently to create "applications" on the Internet. The FrontPage programmability interfaces are designed to create utilities to use during the design stage of an HTML document or Web site. Once the Web site and its corresponding documents are designed, VBScript/Javascript/DHTML are used to create interactive effects.
