Symptoms

You print images in 2007 Microsoft Office system or in Microsoft Office 2010 on a computer that is running a 32-bit version of Windows 7. However, the colors are printed incorrectly. For example, red becomes blue or blue becomes yellow.

This issue occurs in the following scenarios:
  • The printed images are Enhanced Meta File (EMF) or Windows Metafile (WMF) file types. Additionally, the images are in vector format, not in raster format.
  • The print operation uses Image Color Management (ICM).
  • The print operation uses PostScript printers that have the PostScript Passthrough option enabled.

Hotfix information

A supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing the problem described in this article. This hotfix might receive additional testing.
