Symptoms

Microsoft Excel 2000 Help states that Excel can open Quattro Pro files with the extensions .wb2 and .wb3, which are for Quattro Pro for Windows versions 6.0 and 7.0. This is partially incorrect. Excel can directly open files for Quattro Pro for Windows up through version 5.0, including Quattro Pro/DOS (*.wq1) and Quattro Pro 1.0/5.0 for Windows (*.wb1). Excel can also open Quattro Pro for Windows 7.0 files (*.wb3) with the Quattro Pro 7.0 Converter for Excel 2000.

NOTE: The Quattro Pro 7.0 Converter does not support the Quattro Pro 7.0/8.0 WB3 file format from Quattro Pro for Windows 8.0.

In the section "Supported Quattro Pro versions", the following text is incorrect:
Excel can directly open files from Quattro Pro for Windows versions up through 8.0.
It should read:
Excel can directly open files from Quattro Pro for Windows versions up through 5.0. Excel can also open Quattro Pro for Windows 7.0 with the Quattro Pro 7.0 Converter for Excel 2000, which is available for download at http://office.microsoft.com/downloads/2000/qp7conv.aspx.

Help Topic: How do I open files created in Quattro Pro?

In the first paragraph, the following text is incorrect:
Microsoft Excel 2000 can open Quattro Pro version 5.0 for Windows (WB1), version 6.0 for Windows (WB2), and version 7.0 for Windows (WB3).
It should read:
Microsoft Excel 2000 can open Quattro Pro/DOS version 5.0 (WQ1) and Quattro Pro version 5.0 for Windows (WB1) and version 7.0 for Windows (WB3) (with the Quattro Pro for Windows 7.0 Converter for Excel 2000).
