Cause

This problem occurs when you do the following:
  • You create multiple PivotTables from a single cube file.

    -and-
  • You attempt to either refresh your PivotTable or create an offline local cube file, when more than one PivotTable is connected to the offline cube.

Workaround

In order to refresh data in your PivotTable or create a local cube file, the first file to access the offline cube file must be closed. Only one PivotTable can have write access to the cube; therefore, you can modify or refresh only the first PivotTable opened. You cannot modify or refresh all subsequent PivotTables until you close the first.
