Symptoms

When you point to Macro on the Tools menu, the Microsoft Script Editor is unavailable and can not be used.

Cause

The Microsoft Script Editor requires certain component features that are installed with Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.01 SP1 and later.

If these components are not detected on your computer, you will not be able to use the Microsoft Script Editor.

When the Microsoft Script Editor is unavailable, Internet Explorer 4.01 Service Pack 1 or later is not installed.

Resolution

To use the Microsoft Script Editor, install Internet Explorer 4.01 Service Pack 1 or later.
