Symptoms

FrontPage stops responding (hangs) when you attempt to open a large file

Cause

FrontPage has an upper limit on the size of files that can be opened for editing in Page view of FrontPage.

If a file has more than 32,767 lines of code, FrontPage will not be able to open it in Page view, and FrontPage will stop responding (hang) as a result of opening the file.

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.
