Introduction

A hotfix package is available for WCF Data Services (previously known as ADO.NET Data Services) for the Microsoft .NET Framework 4. This hotfix is designed for the .NET Framework 4 on a computer that is running one of the following operating systems:
  • Windows XP
  • Windows Server 2003
  • Windows Vista
  • Windows Server 2008
  • Windows 7
  • Windows Server 2008 R2

Issues that are fixed by this hotfix package

Issue 1

MethodAccessException exceptions may occur on a medium trust server that uses Feed Customization (Friendly Feed) mappings.

Issue 2

WCF Data Services that use the POCO Entity Generator template in ADO.NET C# do not work correctly if you enable proxy generation. Additionally, you may receive an error message that resembles the following:
Internal Server Error. The type "System.Data.Entity.DynamicProxies.Users_CAB05FCC3B20C2B032EAC715757059AC7714874D3681C6CA64DAF4EA121500D0' is not a complex type or an entity type."

Issue 3

An update operation may succeed unexpectedly when the entity tag (Etag) in an update request does not match the Etag on the server. In this case, data corruption may occur. This issue occurs when you use the PUT method, the MERGE method, or the DELETE method for the update operation. The expected behavior is that the update operation fails and you receive status code 412 "Precondition failed."
