Issue that this hotfix package fixes

You try to use an AND() function or an AND.DB() function that contains more than 40 parameters on a SharePoint 2010 site. In this situation, you receive the following error message:

Note After you install the hotfix package that is described in this article, follow the steps mentioned below to perform a successful restore:
  1. Start SharePoint 2010 Central Administration.
  2. Under System Settings, click Manage services onserve.
  3. Locate User Profile Service, and then click Stop.
  4. Perform a backup and restore operation.
  5. To start User Profile Service again after the backup and restore operation is complete, locate User Profile Service, and then click Start.

A supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to resolve only the problem that is described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing the problem described in this article. This hotfix might receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, we recommend that you wait for the next software update that contains this hotfix.
