ACC2000: Error Message: Errors Were Encountered During the Save Operation

When you make a design change to a table and then try to save the table, you may get an error message that starts with the following sentence: NOTE: Microsoft Office 2000 has built-in functionality that allows you to get more information about difficult-to-troubleshoot alerts or error messages. Table exceeded maximum internal column count

To free the internal column count for deleted fields or for fields whose properties you modify, use one of the following methods:

Method 1

On the Tools menu, point to Database Utilities, and then click Compact and Repair Database.

Method 2

1. Select the table.
2. On the File menu, click Save As.
3. In the Save Table 'table name' To box, type a new name. Click OK.
4. Select the same table that you selected in step 1, and then press DELETE.
5. Rename the table that you saved in step 3 to the original table name.

MaxLocksPerFile setting in Windows Registry is too low

To prevent this error message, increase the Windows Registry MaxLocksPerFile setting.
