ACC2000: UseRemoteProvider Error Opening Page in Web Folder

Symptoms

When you open a data access page in a Web folder, you may receive the following error message:
The UseRemoteProvider property is supported only for pages saved to Web folders.

Cause

You opened the HTML file of the page through the Microsoft Access Open dialog box and the UseRemoteProvider property is set to True.

Resolution

You can avoid this error message by opening the HTML file of the page in your browser or by opening the page through the shortcut in the Database window.

Steps to Reproduce Behavior

1.Open the sample database Northwind.mdb.
2.Create a data page based on data from any table.
3.On the View menu, click Properties, and then click the Data tab.
4.On the Edit menu, click Select Page. Set the UseRemoteProvider property to True.
5.Close and save the page to a Web folder.
6.Close Northwind.mdb.
7.On the File menu, click Open. Select the page that you created in step 5, and then click Open.
8.On the View menu, click Page View.
Note that you receive the error message mentioned in the "Symptoms" section.
