This problem may occur when the following conditions are true:
- The workbook contains embedded charts.
-and-
- You select individual embedded charts and use Page Setup to create custom settings for printing the chart as its own document.
-and-
- You make changes on the Page, Margins, or Header/Footer tabs.
-and-
- You save the workbook as HTML, and then reopen it in Excel.
NOTE: When you save the workbook as HTML, Excel displays no warning that custom
Page Setup information for embedded charts may be lost.
An embedded chart has its own set of Page Setup properties separate from the worksheet. Excel does not save the custom changes made on the
Page,
Margins, or
Header/Footer tabs in
Page Setup for an embedded chart when you save the workbook as HTML (in the .htm file format). However, Excel does save changes made to the
Chart tab in Page Setup. Excel also saves similar changes in Page Setup that you make to a chart on its own sheet, after saving the file as HTML.
