The deployment package is not available for an assigned client in a protected boundary for a branch distribution point if you enable a certain option in System Center Configuration Manager 2007 SP2

Symptoms

Consider the following scenario:
  • You create a deployment package on a site server that has System Center Configuration Manager 2007 Service Pack 2 (SP2) installed.
  • You select the Make this package available on protected distribution points when requested by clients inside the protected boundaries option from the Deployment tab in the Properties dialog box of the deployment package.
  • You assign the deployment package to a client in a protected boundary for a branch distribution point.
In this scenario, the deployment package is not available on the branch distribution point.

Resolution

Once the hotfix package is applied and the update.sql is executed, you need to run the following command to grant execute permission to smsdbrole_MP for the new updated stored procedure MP_GetPeerDPList:

GRANT EXECUTE ON MP_GetPeerDPList TO smsdbrole_MP
