Symptoms

When you insert the Euro symbol on a UTF-8 encoded page in Page view, the Euro symbol is displayed as a straight line in HTML view.

Cause

This behavior occurs because FrontPage uses the system font for HTML view. The system font does not include the Euro symbol.

This is only a display problem for HTML view on a page that is UTF-8 encoded. The data is not corrupted, and is displayed as expected in Page view, Preview, and in your Web browser.
