Symptoms

After you open a frames page from a web site and save the page to a different web site, only the frames page is saved.

The individual frames pages are not saved. If you attempt to open or access the frames page you saved, all the frames appear with a gray background and you will see the following message in each frame:

Could not open page http://<servername>/<pagename>
Where <servername> is the name of the server and <pagename> is the name of the frames page that should be in that frame.

Cause

When you open a frames page from one web and choose to save the page to another web without making any changes to the individual frames, FrontPage will only save the frames page.

Resolution

When you open the frames page in FrontPage, you may save it if you make a modification to the content of the frames page. For example, you may place your insertion point in the content of the frames page and press SPACEBAR. The small change will allow you to save the frames page. After it is saved to your hard drive, you may edit it to remove the change you made or make other modifications. You will need to do this for each frame in the frames page.
