FP2000: Transparent Region of PNG File Appears as Gray Region

Symptoms

After you insert a transparent PNG file into a page, the section that should be transparent appears as a gray color.

This region is not transparent.

Cause

FrontPage can not display the transparent region of PNG files, and will display the default gray color.

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.

More information

The transparent region will still appear as expected when you view it in your Web browser, although the region appears as the color gray in Normal view of FrontPage.
