FP2000: Database Pages Created Before Running Asp.exe on Personal Web Server 1.0a Return No Data

Symptoms

If you run Asp.exe to install Active Server Pages (ASP) on Microsoft Personal Web Server 1.0a after you create database pages, the pages display only column headings, and no data is returned.

Cause

When you created the database pages, the server did not support ASP pages.

Active Server Pages was installed on Microsoft Personal Web Server 1.0a after the database pages were created. As a result, the Data Source connection does not recognize the ASP components on the server.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, follow these steps:
  1. Open the web in FrontPage.
  2. On the Tools menu, click Web Settings.
  3. Click the Database tab.
  4. Click to select Connection, and click Modify.
  5. Do not make any changes, and click OK. This causes the connection to be rewritten.
