Resolution

Method 1: Reinstall the FrontPage Personal Web Server

To reinstall the FrontPage Personal Web server and run the Detect and Repair feature of FrontPage, follow these steps:
  1. Insert your FrontPage 98 compact disc into the CD-ROM drive, and start FrontPage 98 Setup.
  2. Perform the installation as you normally would. Type your name and registration information and accept the end-user license agreement when you are prompted to do so.
  3. When you are prompted to choose the type of setup you prefer, click Custom. Click Next.
  4. Click to clear each check box, and make sure that FrontPage Personal Web Server is selected.
  5. Continue with the installation. Type a user name and password when you are prompted to do so.
  6. When setup is complete, start FrontPage 2000.
  7. On the Help menu, click Detect and Repair.
  8. Click Start.

Method 2: Make Sure the \Content Folder is Present

Make sure that the following folder is present on the hard drive:
<x>:\FrontPage Webs\Content
where <x> is the drive letter of the hard disk you originally installed the FrontPage Personal Web server. Once you have made sure that the folder is present, reinstall FrontPage.
