Symptoms

After you modify a database connection in FrontPage that was created in Visual InterDev, the changes are not saved to the page.

Cause

The design-time control that Visual Interdev uses for database connections is different than the design time control in database of FrontPage.

When FrontPage attempts to make a modification to the database design time control from Visual InterDev, it recognizes that the code was not written in FrontPage.

FrontPage recognizes the code as custom code, and preserves it. When you attempt to save the modifications, FrontPage will not modify the design time control properties of the Visual InterDev database control.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, make modifications to the design-time control in the application where it was created. In this case, you must use Visual Interdev to update the properties of the design-time control.
