Symptoms

In Microsoft Excel 2000, when you use the Cell() worksheet function in an equation, the result of the equation may not be updated automatically when a variable is changed.

When you force the equation to recalculate (by pressing F9, for example), the result is changed as expected.

In versions of Excel earlier than Excel 97, the results of an equation containing the Cell() worksheet function are changed automatically.
