Symptoms

When you create a new PivotTable report in Microsoft Excel 2000, Excel creates the report in a new worksheet even when you specify an existing worksheet.

Cause

This problem occurs when you use the PivotTable and PivotChart Wizard and specify to create the PivotTable report in an existing sheet, but you do not specify the range from which to begin creating the report.

Resolution

To resolve this behavior, in the PivotTable and PivotChart Wizard, supply the range at which to begin creating the PivotTable report.
