A calculated item appears in a PivotTable only if the field on which it is
based also appears. If you remove or pivot a field from either the Row or
Column category into the Data category, the
calculated item does not
appear.
A calculated item is a user-defined item in a PivotTable field that
can perform calculations by using the contents of other fields and items in
the PivotTable. Calculated item formulas each include only items from
the field for which you are creating the calculated item. For example, if the database contains a Region field with North and West items, you
can define a calculated item named "NorthWest" by typing the following
formula
=North+West
in the Region field.
