If a worksheet cell that contains a comment is located above a frozen pane, the comment may appear partially obscured or truncated at the border of the frozen pane when you scroll the document.

In Excel 2000, comments are on sheet objects and, therefore, behave like other objects on the worksheet when you scroll the document. In the frozen pane, Excel only displays the portion of the comment that would normally appear in that part of the worksheet if the pane was not frozen.

To prevent this behavior, click Unfreeze Panes on the Window menu, or
select a row underneath the comment before clicking the Freeze Panes
command.
