Symptoms

When you return data from Microsoft Query to your Microsoft Excel worksheet, more records than you specified in the Limit number of records returned to box in the Options dialog box in Microsoft Query are returned.

Cause

The Limit number of records returned to option affects only the number of records to display in the data pane in Microsoft Query. This setting does not affect the number of records returned by your query.
