More information

Microsoft Office programs, such as Excel and Word, support drag-and-drop functionality between programs. For instance, you can select a range of cells in an Excel worksheet and drag the range to a Word document. When you release the mouse button, the dragged object appears in the document.

Under normal circumstances, if you drag a chart embedded in an Excel worksheet to a Word document, a copy of the chart appears in the Word document. However, this will not work if the Excel worksheet contains an embedded Microsoft Map object.
