Symptoms

When you create a column or an area chart in a workbook in Microsoft Excel 5.0c or Excel 7.0, and then open the workbook in Excel 2000, the y-axis is rescaled. For example, if the y-axis scale for the chart in Excel 5.0c or Excel 7.0 uses numbers from 0 through 25, the y-axis scale for the chart uses numbers from 0 through 30 when you open the workbook in Excel 2000.
