To work around this problem, use any of the following methods.
Method 1: Hide the PivotChart Field Buttons
To hide the PivotChart field buttons, click the
PivotChart drop-down arrow on the
PivotTable toolbar and click
Hide PivotChart Field Buttons.
Method 2: Adjust the Position of the Data Labels
Adjust the position of the data labels to be inside or centered, instead of outside. To do this, follow these steps:
- Right-click a data label, and click Format Data Labels on the shortcut menu.
- On the Alignment tab, click the Label Position drop down arrow, and click Inside End or Center.
Method 3: Rotate the Pie Chart
Rotate the pie chart so that the labels are not under the button. To do this, follow these steps:
- Click to select the pie chart, and then click Format Data Series on the Format menu.
- On the Options tab, adjust the Angle of first slice box until a larger slice is in the position next to the button.
Method 4: Move the Obscured Labels
Individually move the obscured labels further away from the pie. To do this, click a label twice so that it has a box around it and is individually selected. Then, click the edge of the box and drag it away from the edge of the pie. By default, the
Show leader lines check box is selected on the
Data Labels tab of the
Format Data Series dialog box, which results in the display of the leader lines connecting the label to the slice.
