An unexpected Uniform Resource Locator (URL) may appear in the New Web Query dialog box after browsing to the Web.

When you click Browse Web in the New Web Query dialog box (point to Get External Data on the Data menu, and then click New Web Query), a new instance of the browser starts. If a Web browser is already running when you do this, then when you switch back to Microsoft Excel, the box in step 1 of the New Web Query dialog box contains the URL from the first instance of the browser.

To work around this behavior, use either of the following methods:
� | Close any instances of the browser before you click Browse Web.

� | Copy the URL from the address box of the browser you are already using, switch to Excel, and paste it in the box in step 1 of the New Web Query dialog box. |
