FIX: Some debugger commands may be disabled or hidden if a custom editor or designer hosts a "VsCodeWindow" code editor as a child control in Visual Studio 2010

Symptoms

Consider the following scenario:
  • You have a custom editor or designer that is integrated into the Visual Studio 2010 development environment.
  • The editor or designer is implemented in managed code.
  • The editor or designer hosts a VsCodeWindow code editor as a child control.
In this scenario, some debugger commands may be disabled or hidden in the code editor. For example, the Add Breakpoint command may be hidden or disabled. Additionally, other debugger commands may not function correctly.

Cause

This issue occurs because of an error in the debugger package (Vsdebug.dll) that is included in Visual Studio 2010.
