ACC2000: Properties for the Shortcut Menus Toolbar Cannot Be Viewed

Symptoms

When you view the properties for toolbars in the Toolbar Properties dialog box, you are unable to view the properties for the Shortcut Menus toolbar.

Cause

The default shortcut menus are not available to be selected in the Toolbar Properties dialog box.

Resolution

Although you are unable to view the properties for the default shortcut menus, you can view the properties for any custom shortcut menus that you create.

To create a custom shortcut menu and to view its properties, follow these steps:
1.Open a new blank database.
2.On the View menu, point to Toolbars, and then click Customize.
3.On the Toolbars tab, click New, type MyCustomShortcut in the Toolbar name box, and then click OK.
4.On the Toolbars tab, click Properties.
5.In the Selected Toolbar list, select MyCustomShortcut, and then select Popup in the Type box. In the warning message box that appears, click OK. In the Toolbar Properties dialog box, click Close.
6.In the Customize dialog box, notice that MyCustomShortcut is not listed in the Toolbars list. This is because it is now a custom shortcut menu and not a toolbar. Custom shortcut menus do not appear in the Toolbars list.

NOTE: You can customize the shortcut menus by clicking to select the Shortcut Menus check box in the Toolbars list; a bar appears with all the default shortcut menus on it. You can then add, change, and delete commands on those menus.
7.On the Toolbars tab, click Properties again.
8.Select MyCustomShortcut in the Selected Toolbar list. Note that you can view and set its properties.
