Summary

If you previously installed FrontPage 98, FrontPage 97, or FrontPage 1.1, and then removed the program, you can install the upgrade version of FrontPage 2000 by using the following steps.

NOTE: Because the Setup program for the upgrade version of FrontPage 2000 searches for a qualifying product, you must have the compact disc or the floppy disks of the qualifying product in order to complete the following steps.

Install the Upgrade Version of FrontPage 2000

  1. Insert the FrontPage 2000 compact disc into your CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drive.

NOTE: If the FrontPage 2000 Setup program starts automatically, the Master Setup screen appears. If the FrontPage 2000 Setup program does not start automatically, do the following:
    1. On the Windows Start menu, click Run.
    2. In the Run dialog box, click Browse.
    3. Open the CD-ROM or DVD-ROM folder and double-click the Setup.exe file.
  2. On the Welcome screen in the Install Shield Wizard, click Next.
  3. Enter your Name, Company Name, and the CD Key, and then click Next.
  4. When the upgrade check fails, the Product Compliance Check dialog box appears.

If you are upgrading from FrontPage 98/97 (compact disc), follow these steps:

    1. Remove the FrontPage 2000 compact disc from the CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drive, and then insert the FrontPage 98/97 compact disc.

NOTE: If the FrontPage 98/97 Master Setup screen appears, close it.
    2. In the Drive list, select the CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drive and click OK.
    3. After the End-User License Agreement dialog box appears, re-insert the FrontPage 2000 CD and continue with setup.
If you are upgrading from FrontPage 1.1 (disks), follow these steps:
    1. Insert the FrontPage 1.1 setup disk (disk 1) in the floppy disk drive.
    2. In the Drive list, select the disk drive that contains the FrontPage 1.1 Setup disk and click OK to continue with the setup.
