Symptoms

When you give a file or folder a name that begins with an underscore ("_") character, the file disappears from view. If you attempt to recreate the file, you will be prompted with the following message:

The file _filename.htm already exists. Do you want to replace the existing file?

Cause

In FrontPage, a file or folder name that begins with an underscore character has special meaning. The file or folder becomes "invisible" or hidden, as a means for protecting sensitive files and folders.
