System Message 6675 when you process the Confirm Shipment step in the Shippers (40.110.00) screen in Microsoft Dynamics SL

Symptoms

Consider the following scenario in Order Management in Microsoft Dynamics SL:
  • You previously applied the fix for issue 21187. For more information about issue 21187, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:
983172 Multiple shippers that contain the same lot numbered inventory ID with the same lot number can unexpectedly be processed at the same time in Order Management in Microsoft Dynamics SL
  • You perform the Confirm Shipment step on a shipper in the Release or Confirm Shipper (40.110.01) screen.
  • You close the Shippers (40.110.00) screen, and then you click No when you receive the following message:
  • You try to confirm the shipment again in the Release or Confirm Shipper (40.110.01) screen, and then you receive the following error message:

System Message 6675- "Inventory item %s will go negative. Do you want to make changes? (Shipper will be placed on administrative hold if you choose no.)"
In this scenario, you do not expect to receive System Message 6675 when you confirm the shipper. Instead, because you clicked No when you were prompted to save your changes, you assume that all the quantities for inventory IDs on the shipper were unallocated. Then you expect the shipper to be confirmed as expected.
