FIX: A Message Queuing 3.0 message is rejected by the receiver when you send the message by using an external certificate in Windows Server 2003 SP2

Symptoms

Consider the following scenario:
  • You run Microsoft Message Queuing (also known as MSMQ) 3.0 in Workgroup mode on a computer that is running Windows Server 2003 Service Pack (SP2).
  • On this computer, you apply the security update�971032 that is documented in the security bulletin MS09-040.
  • You send a Message Queuing 3.0 message by using Microsoft Windows Communication Foundation (WCF) and by using an external certificate.�
In this scenario, the Message Queuing 3.0 message is rejected by the receiver. Additionally, you receive the following error message:
The Signature is Invalid.

Cause

This issue occurs because the certificate service provider name may be written to the Message Queuing 3.0 message incorrectly after you apply the�security update 971032.

Hotfix information
