The WDS server logs an event that has Event ID 519 when a WDS client performs a PXE boot in Windows Server 2008 R2

Symptoms

Consider the following scenario:
  • You have a computer that is running Windows Server 2008 R2.
  • You install the Windows Deployment Services role on this computer.
  • A Windows Deployment Services (WDS) client performs a PXE boot.
In this scenario, a Boot Information Negotiation Layer service (Binlsvc) event that has the Event ID 519 and that resembles the following event is incorrectly added to the Application log:
Event Type: Error
Event Source: BINLSVC
Event ID: 519 User: N/A
Computer: <computer name>
Description: Multiple machine accounts with the same GUID or MAC address were found in Active Directory Domain Services. The Windows Deployment Services server will use the first listed machine account.
MAC Address: <address>
GUID: <GUID>

List of matching machines:
<name>
<name>

There are no duplicated GUID or MAC addresses in the domain. However,the information in this event indicates that some duplicate GUID or MAC addresses are found in the domain.

Hotfix information
