System message 15843, and the Quantity Shipped value in the Shippers (40.110.00) screen is incorrectly updated to zero in Microsoft Dynamics SL

Symptoms

Consider the following scenario in eCommerce Gateway - EDI Edition in Microsoft Dynamics SL:
  • In the Process Inbound EDI Shipment Notices (44.404.00) dialog box, you click Begin Processing.
  • The 945 transaction references a shipper ID, and this shipper ID has multiple warehouse bin locations because you shipped more quantity than you had available.
In this scenario, you receive the following error message in an event log:

System Message 15843: "No LotSerNbr/WhseLoc records were received for line nnnnn on shipper nnnnnnnn for company nnnn. Record will not be imported."

Additionally, the Process Inbound EDI Shipment Notices (44.404.00) dialog box incorrectly updates the Quantity Shipped box on the shipper to zero. However, the shipment is not confirmed.

Workaround

 To work around this issue, manually change the value in the Quantity Shipped box, and then reprocess the 945 document. To do this, follow these steps:
  1. In the Shippers (40.110.00) screen, open the shipper.
  2. Click the Bin/Lot/Ser button to open the Bin/Lot/Serial (40.110.06) screen.
  3. In the Quantity Shipped box, change the value to the correct value.
  4. Process the 945 document again.

This problem was first corrected in Microsoft Dynamics SL Service Pack 1.
