Published application in Citrix running on VMware freezes when it accessed via ICA

Symptoms

Published applications in Citrix may experience slow performance or hangs when connecting via ICA. This issue has been seen when running the server in VMWare and the host server uses multiple AMD processors. The issue may not occur with Intel processors or single processor systems.

Cause

The /UsePMTimer switch is set in the Boot.ini.

Resolution

Remove the /UsePMTimer switch from the boot.ini of the virtual machine and reboot the server.
