Event 33 (SideBySide) error for PDBCopy.exe after installing the Debugging Tools for Windows Version 6.12


Symptoms

An event 33 error may be logged every day at 12:30AM.  This event is observed after installing version 6.12.2.633 of the Debugging Tools for Windows from the Windows Driver Kit release 7.1.0.  The details of the event are listed below.

Cause

This event 33 is the result of a dependency on an older CRT for PDBCopy.exe.

Resolution

The event can be mitigated by either renaming the file (e.g PDBCopy.exe.old), deleting the file or installing the Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 package.
