"There is nothing to process" error message when trying to create an Assessment Report in SSMA


Symptoms

In SQL Server Migration assistant  (SSMA), when you right click on a database that you want to convert to SQL Server in the source meta data explorer and try to create an assessment report by selecting the Create Report option,  you may get the following error message

Assessment Error

There is nothing to process.

Cause

You may get this error message either when the database you selected in metadata explorer does not contain any objects or you do not have the necessary permissions to access those objects.

Resolution

Ensure that the database that you are trying to convert to SQL Server does have some objects in it and you have the necessary privileges to access them.  If you do not have the necessary permissions,  request the same from your  Database Administrator before proceeding with the migration.
