Consider the following scenario:
- You are running Windows Server 2008 R2.
- You use one or more of the following Windows components:
- Windows SharePoint Services
- Windows Server Update Services
- Active Directory Rights Management Services
- Windows System Resource Manager and UDDI Services.
- The above components use a special edition of SQL Server called Windows Internal Database (WYukon) for storing data.
In this scenario, you may notice that the description column for events generated in the application event log by the Windows Internal Database instance is not correctly populated. Instead you may see the following error in the Description column for these events:
The description for Event ID 2803 from source MSSQL$MICROSOFT##SSEE cannot be found. Either the component that raises this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component on the local computer.
If the event originated on another computer, the display information had to be saved with the event.
Note: The source column for events generated from Windows Internal Database will have a value MSSQL$MICROSOFT##SSEE.
This problem will also occur if Service Pack 3 for WYukon is applied on a Windows Server 2003 server.
