iSCSI Initiator can display wrong Source IP address for Favorite Target

View products that this article applies to.

Symptoms

On a computer configured with more than one IP address, the iSCSI Software Initiator Favorite Target Details page may display a different Source IP address when a specific Source IP address has been configured, although a successful connection to your iSCSI target was completed using that specific IP address.

Cause

When network status changes like a network cable is unplugged, or transient network issues encountered during boot-up of the system as reflected by the Event ID 5, this can cause the Favorite Target Details page to display the IP address incorrectly.

Resolution

If you have successfully connected to your iSCSI target using the correct source IP address, you can safely ignore the source IP address shown in the Favorite Targets Properties display.
